This photograph shows some schoolchildren around 1965 crossing a street at the bottom of Townhill Road that no longer exists, Market Street, with Pat Grimes sweet shop on the corner. These buildings were later demolished to make way for the police station which is there now overlooking the busy Sinclair Gardens roundabout. More images like this can also be seen by visiting the Local Studies Department in St Margaret’s House in St Margaret’s Street.
