My mum worked there until 1963 and then went back to work in the “new” shop in 1976.
I remember that store! Showing my age!
My mum (on the right) worked there till she got married in 1955 as apparently they didn’t employ married women in those days!
My grandad was a shop opener for Boots. He opened the new shop after the refit and many others across the country.

I had a Saturday job in Boots in the ’70’s. Staff discount was quite good I seem to remember!

I worked in the refurbished store when I left school , after I left Seath & Loudens chemist .
When did it move to the Kingsgate I remember it being in the high st in the 1990’s
Just as I remember it! I can certainly remember when there was a library upstairs. At the top of the building was a strange little tower called “Black’s Folly” sadly demolished in favour of progress. The library closed sometime in the 1950s. I remember because my Dad was a long time member and was very disappointed.
Toilet Specialists I see, English is a strange language. I did not know they sold toilets. I presume they really meant toiletries and when I was a child they had two shops. One was the pharmacy and a couple of streets away was what my family called “Audio Boots” where you did indeed get audio things.
Came to Dunfermline about 1960..can’t remember that boots.
I loved that shop especially at Christmas
