This photograph is of the junction of Guildhall Street and Abbot Street across from the Carnegie Dunfermline Library. It was replaced in 1912 by the present building which once housed a variety of council services as well as The Curiosity Shop on the corner which is now the Trophy Shop.

Is that the opposite corner to Khushi’s?
Thats the trophy shop
Remember a sweet shop being there
Thank you! I don’t think I’ve seen that one before
Hasn’t changed much over the years
Gill and Chris, remember this!
It was also The Old Curiosity Shop. Got my 1st ear piercing there, when i was 11yrs old. 1979.
Like this really old photo, its like walking in the past with your Grandparents.
I remember the trophy shop
Lovely to see the place that my great great grandparents came from – thank you
OMG. Sure do. It looked like this when we bought it in 1984 and we then modernized it. Lovely to look back but a bit sad as well.
Darrin,you will remember this.
Is this not the junction now? The building on the corner opposite Kushis is not the one in the photo and I would think the ‘new’ one has been there a long time
I remember it being a sweet shop before the Trophy shop which it is now
I used to love the Curiosity Shop. I got my ears pierced here for my 13th birthday – 1981 – and my sister got hers done a few weeks later for her 11th birthday.
