Gardens and teak and glass greenhouses

Photograph of the gardens and teak and glass greenhouses built in 1911 in the Glen and replaced by modern aluminium and glass building in 1973. Second photograph is of the Model Traffic Area that was created in 1950 where children could hire bikes and learn road safety. It was supervised and in the first six days 1,220 children made use of the facility. It closed in 1999 and is now the site of the Carnegie Trust offices just inside the Pittencrieff Street entrance to the Glen.
