This old photograph shows the well known and frequented McPherson’s shop selling new and second hand books together with stationery of all kinds. It was located in the Regal Close until the cinema and the immediate area was acquired for development by Littlewoods (where Primark is now). The business then moved to Chalmers Street where it remained until the retirement of the owners Mr and Mrs Forrester.
