32

This photograph from 1981 shows Queen Anne Street looking towards the Post Office, before it was removed to make way for the Kingsgate Centre development. In the street were buildings such as the Union Inn which was run on the ‘Gothenburg’ principle where profits were used for the good of the community, the florist R.C Ferguson and the vast garage premises of Goodhall which had started life as a stables.
