This photograph shows workers from ‘St Andrews Golf Factory’ (often referred to locally as ‘Dunfermline Golf Factory’) setting off on a works outing to St Andrews in 1946 for the first Open Golf Championship to be held after World War Two. The Factory was situated near Canmore Golf Course.
Copies of ‘Old Dunfermline’ DVD’s can be bought online at www.olddunfermline.com/shop. More old images of Dunfermline can also be seen in the Local Studies Dept at St Margaret’s House in St Margaret’s Street.
